“Pasted in Berlin” Jorge Chamorro
Opening March 2, 2018 8:00 p.m.
Exhibition from March 2 to 22, 2018
In spring 2013 Jorge Chamorro moved to Berlin to curate a collage exhibition with this city’s artists. His idea was to stay over four months although he has now been “stuck in Berlin” for more than four years. During this time he has continued to make collages and to exhibit his work. After four winters in Germany, he decided to spend this year far from cold Central European countries and come to Madrid with a folder full of collages, eager to show them in his home city. Thanks to Pep Carrio, he was lucky enough to get in touch with La Factoría de Papel. And here we are.
“Pegado en Berlín” shows, for the first time in Madrid, a selection of the collages made during the Berlin years.
All the collages on display are analogical, without digital manipulation, using only photographs from books and magazines, scissors and lots of glue.
Thursday 15 at 7 PM. In Conversation with Jorge Chamorro: ‘Stuck in Berlin’ and more besides, the exhibition explained, by Jorge.
Next Thursday, March 15, at 7 PM, Jorge Chamorro will be at La Factoría de Papel to discuss his collage exhibition “Pegado en Berlín”.
Through the different collections exhibited at the gallery, Jorge will talk to us about his working methods, his approaches towards collage, visual communication, plastic creation … and whatever comes out of an open dialogue with anyone who wants to know more about the work of this artist and to delve into the world of collage or simply to talk about art over a beer.
