Curated By: Fernando Bellver
Opening November 20, 2014, 8:00 p.m.
From November 20 to December 15
The originality of the program “Comisariado por” is to offer the role of curator to some of the most outstanding artists of the contemporary scene, so that they select pieces according to their personal criteria and can be contemplated in the space of the Paper Factory ( Buenavista, 8, next to the Doré cinema).
On this occasion, the first exhibition is in the hands of the artist Fernando Bellver.
Fernando has selected works on paper by some of the artists with whom he has established special links of friendship and collaboration over the years: Alfredo Alcaín, Eduardo Arroyo, Joan Brossa, Rafael Canogar, Javier de Juan, Juan Genovés, Chema Madoz, Andrés Nagel, Bea Pérez, Jaume Plensa y Manolo Valdés.
They belong to different generations and different artistic currents but, beyond their friendship with Fernando Bellver, a few certain and secret connections can be discovered in these works: a closeness to figuration, a sharpness and rotundity in colours and lines, and a subtle pop mood in many of them. In a way this exhibition can be read as a fragmented mirror that reflects the artist-curator himself.
