Unique occasion to see the complete collection of BEL CANTO Original Illustrated Stones by Pep Carrió
Years ago in Mallorca I helped great friends who were rehabilitating their country house to build a dry stone wall.
They asked me to look for stones around the farm, but when I returned with my pile and saw what I had collect, they told me:
«these stones have no face, so they don’t count».
This was first news! If you want to make a wall the stones must have faces, so they support each other.
Since then I haven’t stopped looking for those faces on the walls, in the stones of the countryside, in the boulders of the beaches,
I was affected by a pareidolia petrea.
This exhibition is a song to the ‘canto’ Spanish word for boulder, is formed by a large family created stone by stone, face to face,
with boulders collected in beaches of Mallorca, Asturias, Galicia, Portugal, in the bed of the Jaramilla river and so many more places.
This family born during several vacations as an occupational therapy has found its meeting point this spring at La Factoría de Papel.
